Epworth United Methodist Church was founded in 1890  by Melissa Briggs (Methodist Deaconess) on 31st and Walnut Streets in Denver. It remained in that location until 1915, when it was moved to 31st and Lawrence Streets.  Epworth moved to its present location in 1980.  Epworth is a small congregation with a big heart. Presently the church is involved with the Community-Wide Thanksgiving, feeding approximately 8,500 families in 2008.  Epworth also sponsors the Youth Entrepreneur Program, Whiz Kids (tutoring), Computer Lab, and Boys and Girl Scouts, Talent Camp, Community bible study, and host of other programs.
