Musings  From The  Pastor

James Cleveland asked this question in one of the songs that he sang “Christian where is your faith?” That question keeps running thru my mine as we approach the multitude of programs that we are to be responsible for; Church where is your faith?

You have a church that is in need of moving on and making a difference in the lives of the people in this community. Much is happening in that regard, the question is it happening as a result of your efforts. Are you working on the removal of the demons in your life?

Matthew 17:18-21 reads… “18; And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

20; So Jesus said to them, [Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, {Move from here to there}, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

21; However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting”.

In this passage Jesus is speaking to the people that is closes to Him, the one we know as the disciples. He had sent them out on their own to spread the word they had some success, this particular situation was not one of the successes. They had failed! They had not stayed connected close enough to the source. Jesus wants them to know that if they were to deal with hard issues of life they had to stay on their knees. If they want to move to the next level they had to move the body and the mine into submission, they had to both FAST  AND  PRAY. Church are we fasting and praying???

We have begun the journey; let us move on in faith. The faith that I speak of is; God pleasing, Devil defeating, mountain moving faith. There is much to be done, let your hands and heart find that work.
