Epworth’s Black History
For the entire month of
February, each Sunday a different family will be coming forward
to talk about their family history.
·
February 11th:
Sister Carol Rose will tell us about her family history.
·
February 18th:
Sister Wallace Yvonne Tollette will present her family history.
·
February 25th:
Sister Sandra Durst will tell us about her family’s history by
reading poems she has written over the years.
Last Sunday Clarence
Williams gave everyone a copy of his Black History Test to see
how knowable they were on Black History. Some did “good”, some
did “great” and some need to read more about our history.

New Sports Clothing
On February 1, 2007 the
Family-to-Family staff at Epworth distributed over 1,500 pieces
of clothing to more than 200 families and 5 childcare facilities
in the area. The clothing was donated by a New York City
organization called KIDS (Kids in Distressed Situations) to
Volunteers of America (VOA). VOA then donated the items to
Family-to-Family at Epworth. The clothing included NFL/NBA/NHL
and college professional team logos. Epworth has and will
continued to play an active role in the distribution of these
